Evesham is a beautiful, historic, riverside town and there are many places to visit both within Evesham itself and around the surrounding areas.

Suggested Activities:
Visit the Bell Tower & twin churches of St Lawrence & All Saints together with the Almonry Heritage Centre.

Have a picnic by the River Avon in the Abbey Park, or see things from a different perspective by taking a boat trip down the river.

In Springtime, drive along the blossom trail through the Vale, and find the orchards in a blaze of colour (between mid March and mid May).

Sample the locally grown 'Queen of Vegetables' at the Vale Asparagus Festival day (towards the end of May - beginning of June).

Enjoy the annual angling festival in August that attracts fishermen from far and wide.

Interesting Facts:
The name of Evesham is derived from "Eof's ham" after a swineherd, Eof, who saw a vision of the Virgin Mary.

The River Isbourne, at the bottom the the garden at Brookside Guest House, is unusual as it flows due North.
Evesham was the site of a major battle—the Battle of Evesham, in which Simon de Montfort was defeated and killed.

Evesham is referred to as ‘Asum’ by many of the locals.

Evesham was home to one of Europe's largest abbeys, of which only the Bell Tower remains.
